The general aim of this course is for students to develop a deeper understanding of Australia and its people, through the study of and meaningful experiences with its indigenous peoples - the Aboriginal people. The main issues we will focus on:
・ the diversity of peoples and cultures who are called "Aboriginal,"
・Aboriginal spiritual beliefs and practices and how these influence their practices
・Aboriginal peoples' connection to their land,
・the problems that they have faced in the past 222 years,
・the present challenges they face and how they are responding to these.
