The aim of this course is help students develop a deeper and broader understanding of Australia and its people. The main focus will be on the indigenous people--the Aboriginal peoples--and the policy of Multiculturalism and what it means, but there will also be some study of Australia and Australians in general. In February 2008, the Australian government said "Sorry" to its indigenous peoples. Why? And why was it important for the future of Australia. This is one of the important questions we will look at and experience. Students will meet and interact with a variety of Australians, and gain an understanding of who they are and how they see the future of their country.
